honey is the only food product that never spoils. there are pots of honey that are over five thousand years old and still completely edible
i also want to point out we know it tastes the same even after thousands of years b/c archaeologists who discovered two thousand year old honey tasted it. presumably right after they looked at each other and went “what the hell here goes nothing”
I’m pretty sure they also identify human remains by taste. Archaeologists are straight up freaks.
No, no no… you identify bone from rock or other substances by touching it to your tongue. If it sticks, it’s bone. The taste itself has nothing to do with it. And most archaeologists won’t lick human bones if they know they’re human.
…and I realize that doesn’t actually do much to prove archaeologists aren’t freaks.
Ron just got his howler from his mom yelling at him for stealing the car. He seems super embarrassed and most of the Great Hall is laughing. But here’s the thing:
Ron is 12 years old.
Ron stole a car.
Ron fucking stole a fucking car at the age of TWELVE.
I would not be laughing at him. Ronald Weasley is a fucking bad ass. When was the last time you jacked a car Malfoy? That’s what I thought. Bitch.
Harry woke up at 3 am, wrote this, and went back to sleep.
New best reply.

Imagine if the reader was a german during WW2. Maybe she was caught by the British along with her father who was some big shot in Germany. She would be locked up somewhere in England.
Tom would be a solider, and he would be ordered to guard the girl, because of course she couldn’t be kept with the men. Tom would do the best job, and he would refuse to talk to her, but it was hard keeping distance.
The reader didn’t agree with her father, and had tried to flee Germany, but without luck. She would try to explain the situation to Tom, but he refused to listen. She was with the enemy, so he didn’t show any mercy for her.
One day she’s crying and just breaking down, because she can’t take it anymore. That day is when it all gets too much for Tom. He can’t stand outside her cell and listen to her cry, so he bends the rules a little, and talks to her, in an attempt to cheer her up.
This is the start of a new friendship. He would sneak in food that was better than whatever prison food they gave her, and she would share stories from her life in Germany.
Emotionally, Tom is trying to keep his distance, but it’s hard. When she starts telling him how she would make some of her father’s flies disappear, or how she would try to sabotage the nazis, his heart would soften.
The reader would slowly start to fall for the soldier who was being nice to her, and there would be fling between them.
The reader and her father would be released to Germany, which meant that she had to leave Tom behind in England. The night before she was leaving, he snuck in a small note and gave it to her.
It was a note, telling her how to escape the release. She was going to run away from Germany, and stay with Tom. He knew she wouldn’t be safe with her father, because it was only a matter of time before someone realized she was on the other side.
Tom knew it would be dangerous to help her. He knew it was against the law to keep her here, and he knew there was no chance he could tell anyone about her, but he still helped her flee. He gave her a place to stay, helped her get a british accent, so she one day would be able to go out and live a normal life.
He would be willing to risk his life to save hers.
